Dr. Lucy W. Kibe is a respected healthcare leader, educator, and researcher with over 20 years of experience spanning clinical practice, academic leadership, and public health. As Associate Professor and Physician Assistant (PA) Program Director at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU), she is dedicated to guiding future PAs at every stage-from aspiring applicants to practicing clinicians and beyond.

At CDU, she oversees the PA training program, ensuring students receive exceptional education, faculty and staff progress professionally, and the PA program continues to grow and evolve. Additionally, she champions the advancement of practicing PAs, mentoring colleagues to pursue doctoral training, leadership roles, teaching, advocacy, and research opportunities.

Dr. Kibe's multidisciplinary background-including a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Community Health and Prevention, a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, a Master of Health Science, and PA certification -enables her to integrate education, research, and clinical practice to improve healthcare delivery in the U.S. and through medical missions to Africa.

A highly accomplished researcher and grant-funded scholar, Dr. Kibe has secured over $4 million in research funding as a Principal Investigator (PI) or co-PI and published over 50 peer-reviewed articles on preventive care, chronic disease management, patient education, and workforce development. She has presented her work at national and international medical conferences and has received numerous honors, including CDU's 2024 Researcher of the Year and the Servant Leadership Award.

Beyond academia, Dr. Kibe has held key leadership roles in clinical settings, including Chief Medical Quality Officer and Director of Clinical and Wellness Services, where she played pivotal roles in transforming free clinics into Federally Qualified Health Centers, extending care to thousands of patients.

For Dr. Kibe, healthcare is more than a profession-it is a lifelong calling that merges education, innovation, and improved patient outcomes. Through leadership, research, mentorship, and service, she continues to strengthen healthcare systems and develop the next generation of PAs, ensuring that quality healthcare reaches every community, everywhere.
