As the director of the “Research Design and Biostatistics” function at Charles R Drew University (CDU), and Co-Director of CDU/UCLA-CTSI, Biostatistics, Study Design and Clinical Data Management Program, I have the wealth of expertise to successfully provide rigorous basic and advanced methodological and educational support in biostatistics, research design, epidemiology and other technical domains with practical guides for basic science, clinical and translational types of research. I have a medical degree in internal medicine and doctorate degree in epidemiology /biostatistics with extensive training and expertise in clinical, community and translational research. As a researcher, I carried out clinical and translational research since 1995. I successfully administered several projects, collaborated with other researchers, and produced several peer-reviewed publications from these projects and continue to produce more articles. As an educator, I have over 20 years experience in providing statistical and epidemiological and research methods teaching, and training to scholars, faculty, and students. I mentored faculty and students at CDU, provide courses, seminars and training workshops for investigators interested in biostatistics, epidemiology, clinical, community and translational research. As a result of my experiences, I refined the research method and improve the implementation of the projects, assist investigators in the design, implementation, data management, statistical data analysis, and publication of their research projects, provided basic and advanced methodological and statistical support to investigators including junior faculty conducting pilot projects, other faculty, and investigators.
